Privacy Policy
Cig Tracker

Last updated: July 18, 2026

Cig Tracker (“the App”) helps you track smoke breaks and work toward reducing or quitting smoking. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data the App collects and how it is used.

Data We Collect

Data stored on your device only:

  • Your smoke break log (dates and counts)
  • Your substitute activity log
  • Your app preferences (custom messages, popup frequency)

This data is stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage and is never uploaded to our servers. Deleting the App deletes this data.

Data processed for subscriptions: If you purchase a Premium subscription, the purchase is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We use RevenueCat, a subscription management service, to validate purchases.

Third-Party Data Recipients (Sub-Processors)

When you make a purchase, the following third parties receive limited data:

Recipient What they receive Why
Apple Inc. Purchase receipt, Apple ID, device identifiers, IP address Payment processing (App Store)
Google LLC Purchase receipt, Google account info, device identifiers, IP address Payment processing (Google Play)
RevenueCat, Inc. Anonymous app user ID, purchase receipt, device identifiers, IP address Subscription validation and management

RevenueCat does not receive your name, email address, or payment details. Payment details are handled entirely by Apple or Google.

  • RevenueCat Privacy Policy: revenuecat.com/privacy
  • Apple Privacy Policy: apple.com/legal/privacy
  • Google Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy

Device identifiers and IP addresses may qualify as personal data under GDPR and CCPA. These are processed solely for the purpose of validating your subscription and are governed by each sub-processor’s own privacy policy.

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect your name, email address, or contact information
  • We do not track your location
  • We do not use advertising or analytics trackers
  • We do not sell or share any data with third parties beyond the sub-processors named above

Health Disclaimer

Cig Tracker is a self-tracking tool, not a medical device. It does not provide medical advice. If you are trying to quit smoking, consider consulting a healthcare professional.

Children’s Privacy (COPPA)

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn we have inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

Content Maturity Rating

Cig Tracker carries a 17+ / Mature age rating due to tobacco-related content and themes, in accordance with Apple App Store and Google Play content guidelines. This rating reflects content suitability, not a data privacy age threshold.

California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)

We offer the following rights to California residents voluntarily, regardless of whether we meet the CCPA/CPRA revenue or volume thresholds (we likely do not as an indie app):

  • Right to know — what personal data is collected about you
  • Right to delete — request deletion of your personal data
  • Right to correct — request correction of inaccurate personal data (we hold none directly, but you may contact us to address anything received via our sub-processors)
  • Right to opt out of sale — we do not sell personal data

To exercise these rights, email us at Beneficbrands@gmail.com with the subject line “Privacy Request” and specify which right you are exercising. We will respond within 45 days as required by CCPA/CPRA.

European Users (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the legal basis for processing device identifiers and IP addresses via our sub-processors is the performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) — specifically, to validate your subscription purchase. We do not make automated decisions using your data.

International data transfers: Apple, Google, and RevenueCat are US-based. When your data is processed by them in connection with a subscription purchase, it is transferred to the United States. We rely on Article 49(1)(b) GDPR (transfer necessary for the performance of a contract with you) as the transfer mechanism. Each sub-processor also maintains their own Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) for broader data transfers under their own privacy frameworks.

We believe our processing qualifies for the Article 27 GDPR exemption for occasional, small-scale, low-risk processing. We will reassess this position, and appoint an EU representative if needed, should our data processing practices change.

Subscription Terms

Premium is a monthly auto-renewing subscription billed through your App Store or Google Play account. You can cancel anytime in your device’s subscription settings. Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase; the subscription renews automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated revision date. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
